NÄCHSTE
GENERATION
Tierknochen, Plastilin
2007
Raw and bare looking
little figures partly showing their inner sceletal structure appear lively
and appealing. The combination of dead animal’s bones and kid’s
play dough is proposing a new evolution of creature. The bones once supporting
a living animal are referring to a future past. Recasted and mutated,
coated with a material that is highly transformable and adaptable these
creatures seem to have accomodated with the challenges of a new future.
Using children’s plasticine to cast the form of his „Next
Generation“ Wehinger brings together two materials that usually
never get into contact. „Next Generation“ reminds us of the
momentariness of the being and that one’s remains are the basis
for the development of another.
